Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups of whole wheat flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup butter melted
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp honey

Instructions

  • Preheat your waffle maker so it's ready to go when your batter is mixed.
  • In a standing mixer, combine all the ingredients. Start with the dry ingredients: whole wheat flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Give these a quick mix. Then add the wet ingredients: eggs, milk, melted butter, and honey. Mix until the batter is smooth.
  • Once your waffle maker is heated and the batter is ready, lightly grease the surface of the waffle maker with a little butter or non-stick spray. This helps in getting that perfect, golden-brown finish without sticking.
  • Pour about 1/4 cup of the batter onto the waffle maker. Adjust the amount based on the size of your waffle maker as needed.
  • Close the lid and let it cook for about 1 1/2 minutes, or until the waffle is beautifully golden and crisp. The timing can vary slightly depending on your waffle maker, so it might take a trial or two to get it just right.
  • Serve hot! These waffles are fantastic with a variety of toppings. Try them with a dollop of Greek yogurt, a drizzle of honey, or your favorite seasonal fruits. For an extra touch of indulgence, a little sprinkle of cinnamon sugar right before serving makes them truly heavenly.

Notes

Whole wheat flour is a great source of fiber, which helps in keeping you full longer and stabilizes blood sugar levels. Cinnamon not only adds a warming flavor but also brings its anti-inflammatory properties to the table.
